Dr. Mirjeta Cenaj received a university degree (4 year study program) in English language, translation and interpreting from the Foreign Languages Faculty, University of Tirana in 2003. She started working as an English lecturer at former Academy of Physical Education and Sports “Vojo Kushi”, the present Sports University of Tirana, in 2006. In 2009 commenced a Master program on Linguistics and Didactics and was awarded a masters diploma in 2011. She commenced a PhD on “Curriculum Development of ESP and aspects of specific vocabulary learning and teaching” in 2013 and finalized it in May 2017, thus was awarded the title “Doctor”. Her PhD thesis examines the ESP curriculum and aspects related to sports specific vocabulary learning and teaching.
My main research focus is English for Specific Purposes, specifically sports specific vocabulary and other aspects of English language teaching. My research has been, and continues to be, focused on the learning and teaching strategies and techniques of English for sports, students’ language needs and their learning styles and learning strategies used in language learning. This area of research also has implications for the design and application of teaching materials and methodology which results in a more efficient learning process and outcomes.
